"The Brand twins are the first successful attempts that the Lucifuge had at making Bladians. All of the conspiracy’s previous attempts had failed due to the volatile nature of Bloodsingers and their incompatibility with demonic natures. Suffice to say, this has resulted in a unique combination: a pair of Bladians whose Bloodsingers have managed to completely meld with demonic will, and thus have significantly longer lives than most Bladians would. Of course, this also means that they will be the only Thrones numbers who can die because of the Path.

After Operation Nyx in 2012, Saxon and Breton immediately approached the inner coven of the Thrones in order to request that they dual-license under Zangyaku. The pair was among the first of the Thrones to turn their sights away from their own kind, and make stronger personal connections with other Keepers of the Vigil. Suffice to say, Zangyaku welcomed the twins with open arms: Hikaru Shinta, the conspiracy’s leader, had trained them in the past, and valued them highly for their skills.

Saxon and Breton transferred to the Oni Ward of the Thrones during the First Reforms, and that has since then been their home base. They participated in all major joint operations between the Thrones and Netsach during the Darkest Vigil. When Liana Panilio, one of their closest friends from Netsach and the Bladian of the Searing Wind, passed away in 2037, the twins decided to participate in the following year’s Ceremony of Measuring in her honor. As a result, the two of them became the next Bladians within the inner circle of the Wolf. They have retained their positions in the Searing Wind since 2038. However, since there is only one slot available, the two of them fight for the right to “be official” every year."
